Hi;      My name is Chris  and I have a two (2) year old female Australian Shepherd named Brandy.  Brandy has been a part of the Good Dog School for most of her wondrous life. Our entire family, our children, the children's Grand Parents and Great Grand Parents have all had Brandy become a fun part of their lives. This email is to describe the roller coaster emotions recently experienced on Monday, July 19, 1999.   It started because I was interested in helping a good neighbor move furniture, thus I crossed the street in front of our home to go to theirs. Under normal circumstances, for most people, this would be no big deal. But you see, we live on a very traffic active street in Fort Worth, known as Ridgmar Boulevard. Cars incessantly fly up this residential area in excess of 40 MPH. Thus, I always keep our backyard gates locked. However, on this particular day, my son was mowing the back yard and somehow the gate came open. Brandy knows the front yard is off base for her, but for the first time in her young life, she saw her master across the street without her and devoted as she is, she simply wanted to be with me. I saw her. In an instant, I sensed what could be transpiring. The danger my dog faced. At that very instant, a car was headed down Ridgmar Boulevard in excess of 50 mph and Brandy was headed right for me. Time seem to go in slow motion, as I feared the worst. I hollered "Stop!" and gave the 'Down' command. Brandy hesitated. With more vigor, I again shouted my command. She went down, hitting the ground like I had taught her. The car, unaware how close he came to taking our dearly beloved pet, passed. I now how time to return and get her.

Thank you Good Dog School. The training has helped to save my partnerbrandy.JPG (48066 bytes)

Note* From Good Dog: Many of our wonderful students give us credit for what they themselves have done.  Many students start training, but don't stick it out, because it becomes 'work'. Chris, on the other hand, is devoted to his family and his dog. His stick-to-it-tiveness is a tribute to dog trainers everywhere. Thank you Chris for this super heartwarming story with another happy ending.
